Keep Making Soul ✨🫱🏽🫲🏼
I've got some ideas for you this month 🎨✂️💌

Dear Beautiful Human,
When the regime is trying to divide us against each other, it’s time to connect, instead.
When the powers-that-(wanna)be wish for us to cower in our corners, doom-scrolling, it’s time to gather for singing, dancing, and art-making!
Those four artsy-craftsy events I mentioned last time are coming up. (See below.) Also, my “26% off original artwork” sale 🖼️ ends on Sunday.
Mark your calendar, and I’ll see you soon.
(If you’re outside the Portland area, you have permission to scroll to the bottom. 😉👇🏽)
Remember: anything we do to build connection is, by nature, resisting fascism.
Art matters.
👉🏽 1. Corazón Flamenco - Friday, February 13th, 6:30 - 9:00-ish
On Friday evening, Feb. 13th, I’ll be hanging out in the gymnasium of NE Portland’s Kennedy School (a fab McMenamin’s venue) for a FREE all-ages event called Corazón Flamenco. While enjoying a flamenco dance and music performance by Espacio Flamenco and friends, please come by my All Hands Art table to make your own Valentine/Gal-entine/Pal-entine (is that a thing?) cards. 💌✂️🖍️
You can also peruse the artwork, doodle books, and small gifties I’ll be offering for purchase. Sugarpep Truffles will be selling sweet treats nearby!
We’d love to see you there. 💗 Just come! No reservations or tickets needed.
👉🏽 2. Doodle & Draw - Thursday, February 19th, 1:30 - 4:00 pm
I’m happy to report that Doodle & Draw is ON for Thursday, February 19th from 1:30 - 4:00 pm! And there’s still room for a few more folks to sign up. You can do that right here.
I love (and teach) doodling as an intentional way to unlock and explore your creativity. I love (and teach) drawing as a vehicle for learning to truly see what you’re looking at, trusting your senses in order to override the ideas the world has given you about what you’re supposed to see.
Doodle & Draw combines brief activities in both modes, and then time for you to work on a doodle/drawing of your own. Come ready to explore and play and gain fluency with your pencil or pen. 💗✏️ All skill levels welcome.
👉🏽 3. Mixed-Media Mosaics at the ReBuilding Center - Sunday, February 22nd, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
I’ve been teaching creative reuse classes at the ReBuilding Center for four-plus years now, a neighborhood institution with the spot-on bumper sticker slogan, “I love that place! 🔨”
Join me on Sunday the 22nd from 10 am - 1 pm for Mixed Media Mosaics, a delightful workshop where you let your imagination roam freely through my collection of whimsical do-dads as you assemble your one-of-a-kind art piece. No art experience is required, and if you have your own budding collection or random do-dads, you’re welcome to bring them along! Registration through RBC is here.
Look for a two-day Making Tile Mosaics class at RBC this March.
👉🏽 4. Open Make - Saturday, February 28th, 1:00 - 4:00 pm
The next Open Make session is on Saturday, February 28th (it’s the last Sat. of each month) from 1 - 4 pm. The idea is that you bring your own project to work on, and you actually get it done because it’s on your calendar, you’ve paid $25 to be here, and there are other people around who are moving their projects forward. Plus tea and snacks. ☺️ Click here to reserve your spot. (Only 2 spots remain.)
Another option is to come empty-handed and join me in that month’s optional activity, which for February is noodling around with watercolors. There’s an extra materials fee for using my stuff, but I have plenty to share, and for a variety of potential projects.
👉🏽 REMINDER! The “26% Off to usher in 2026 Art Sale” is on through Sunday, February 15th. A select number of my original paintings and collages (read: the ones I was able to get photographed and posted in my online shop 😬) are marked down temporarily. Now that the bustle of the holidays is over, maybe it’s time to liven up your walls!?!
I gave a fuller tour of artworks on sale (and my one rule for purchasing them) here.
Note that the sale applies to original artworks, not prints or books or cards this time. Here are a couple of samples, below. Click here to see more.

Dear friends, continue to build community; exercise your imagination; talk about the way you want things to be in the next phase; make connections with other humans, plants, animals, the Earth body, your deep soul.
Persist, connect, rest, find joy with each other.
With love,
-Pam
